President's Corner
January 2010
Dear Fellow Alumni,
I hope you all enjoyed your well deserved Christmas break with your family!
On behalf of the Wharton Club of Paris and its team, I wish you a Happy New Year 2010 and welcome you back with a semester programme full of events.
On the School front, I am particularly pleased to inform you that the Wharton Club of Paris received the “International Club of the Year” award during the Global Clubs Conference held in Philly last October. This recognition has to be shared with our current and past Club members and leaders that contributed to our achievements. It clearly positions our Club as one of the most active and successful Wharton clubs worldwide.
On the Club front, I am pleased to report that TRIAGO, the firm founded and led by one of our great alumni and entrepreneur Antoine Dréan (WG’92), has become an official sponsor of the Wharton Club of Paris since last September. In addition, Jacques Culioli (WG’99) has joined our team to work with me on the monthly lunches as well as on a number of special projects with a view to enrich our programming in the coming months. Finally, Gui Bulaty (WG’06) will be taking over the role of Jean-Pierre Gintrac (WG'04) as our new Club Treasurer. We are pleased to welcome Jacques and Gui on our team for these two important roles and extend our grateful thanks to Jean-Pierre who has held the Treasurer position since 2007 and supervised with success our move onto the School's WhartonConnect platform during 2009.
For this forthcoming year 2010, you will continue to find an impressive list of events on our website: www.whartonparis.com
Please note that the following events have already been planned:
- Tuesday 12th of December : Wharton “New Year” Lunch (more here)
- Tuesday 26th of December : Executive Dinner with Charles Beigbeder, President POWEO (more here)
- Thursday 11th of February: Wharton Headhunters Meeting
In addition, a joint Europe-Middle East-Africa (EMEA) and Latin America forum is scheduled on 24-25 June 2010 in Madrid. I strongly encourage all of you to participate to this alumni forum, where we look forward to seeing many of you. I also take this opportunity to inform you that the event with the President of the University of Pennsylvania, Amy Gutmann, is now planned to take place in Paris next October.
Again, I would like to thank you for your continuing support and thank each and every member of the team for his commitment to the Wharton Club of Paris.
More generally, we look for volunteers with enthusiasm to join our team. It is truly rewarding to take initiatives and serve the Club in the Wharton spirit to improve our collective experience. Please feel free to contact me on +33 6 72 81 35 17 or email me at franck.noiret@cdcinnovation.com if you are interested in contributing to your club.
Looking forward to seeing you all in our next events.
